The BBQ Welcomes Five Ultimate

At this year’s PLU BBQ, Five Ultimate will be out and about frontin’ couches, offering gear and creating mischief. Thanks to modern science (and the help of some psycho-designer drunk named Tranholt), we’re able to offer you a sneak peek at some of what will be available this weekend. Booyah:

In addition to this mad gear, discs with the BBQ Pig will be available for sale at the Five tent.

BBQ Expanded. 24 Open, 8 Women’s

Cultimate and PLU are pleased to announce an expanded tournament roster of 24 Open teams and 8 Women’s. The following teams’ bids have been accepted and have been notified. If you are the captain of your team, please confirm your bid by clicking the email link. Tournament bid fees of $295 must be received by March 1st. Sorry, no exceptions.

Bid Confirmations Next Week

Thanks to all teams that have already submitted a bid to the 10th Annual PLU BBQ. We will begin accepting bids early next week, so expect a confirmation email then. Bids are accepted on a first come first serve basis, however some spots are awarded based on bid strength.

The PLU BBQ will be taking place at the originally stated fields (Heritage Recreation Center) near Tacoma, WA. We still intend to accommodate more teams but will not have the final word on that until next week. After your team has been accepted, if you would like to crash on PLU floor space over the weekend please notify team@cultimate.com.

Observe This! – Observer Training at PLU BBQ

Are you or anyone you know interested in becoming a certified UPA observer? A training and certification clinic will be held in conjunction with the 10th Annual PLQ BBQ tournament (March 13/14, 2010). Participants must register beforehand and clinic space is limited. The clinic will take all of Saturday and most of Sunday, so participants cannot play in the tournament. Contact jonotc@shumi.org if you are interested.

Up in My Grill: Announcing the 10th Annual PLU BBQ

Parkland’s own, Pacific Lutheran University Ultimate Club in conjunction with the world’s most eminent tournament management organization, Cultimate, is pleased to announce the first PLU BBQ of the decade.

Join teams from across the Northwest for a weekend of top notch games, top notch fun, top notch FiveUltimate gear and top notch BBQ on Saturday.

The BBQ can currently accommodate 16 Open and 8 Women’s teams, but we’re working to reserve a large field space that can host more teams. We will announce this if it can be secured. Sign ups are handled on a first come, first serve basis. Bid cost is $295 per team. All bid payments must be received by March 1st. Your team will receive an email once your bid has been accepted. Your squad must be paid before your spot is officially reserved.
