Matt “Skip” Sewell
Born in the “biggest” state America knows, Skip has dedicated his post-graduate career to life, ultimate and the pursuit of caffeine. Matthew’s playing career launched at Oberlin College in Ohio, though he spent most of his college career at the University of Texas at Austin. In 2005, he joined Seattle Sockeye, and his contributions on defense have helped Sockeye to two UPA Club Championships in 2006 and 2007 and the WUGCC Silver Medal in 2008.
Skip’s efforts with Cultimate began in 2004, building Centex into the most competitive tournament of the College Season. In 2006, Trouble In Vegas was launched, and quickly became the largest tournament on the spring schedule, hosting 120 college teams in 2008.
Cyle Van Auken
Scheduling and sarcasm mastermind, Cyle Van Auken has been a satellite member of the Cultimate team since 2006, helping to plan and implement the 2008 National Collegiate Ultimate Series, formatting and seeding tournaments, and assisting with the Fall Schedule including 2007 Northwest Club Regionals. Cyle currently coaches the University of Washington’s women’s team, Element, and has helped with many coaching clinics in the Northwest.
Cyle was part of the quartet of indefatigable players that led Florida to the 2006 College National Championship, and played that role again in the 2008 season that culminated in a National Runner-Up finish. Cyle’s club career includes two seasons with National Qualifier Vicious Cycle in 2005 and 2006.
Elliot “Tron” Trotter
Hailing from Chicagoland, Elliot first experienced competitive ultimate playing in the Chicago Ultimate Juniors Organization. In transplanting to Tacoma, WA to attend the University of Puget Sound, he helped found the UPS Postmen, who have a consistent record of appearing at Sectionals and heckling smarter, better and faster than any team in the history of the sport.
Elliot joined up with Cultimate at the start of 2009 and has found a knack for wrangling sponsors, sleep deprivation and looking good while doing it. He also edits videos here and there.
Ben Feldman
Cultimate’s favorite intern, Ben Feldman is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is finishing up his third season as a member of the Wisconsin Hodags. Born and raised in Minnesota, Ben started playing Ultimate when he was a sophomore at Hopkins High School.
