Got a question not answered here? Feel free to email us at team@cultimate.com.

Q: When are bids due?
A: We will begin accepting teams on Tuesday, November 24th. Bids will be filled on a rolling admission basis (i.e. first come, first served).  Player fees are due by December 17, 2009. See our registration section for full details.

Q: Why are you charging per-player fees instead of team fees?
A: The tournament site for Trouble in Vegas ups it’s field rental cost every year. Rather than increasing the bid cost for all teams to shoulder (i.e. a tournament entry fee of $400+), we felt it was more fair to charge teams on a per player basis so that squads with fewer players are not priced out of the event. Essentially, the per-player fee guarantees equal-opportunity Trouble.

Q: Do you have a refund policy?
A: Yes, we definitely have a refund policy in place. Sometimes plans change and players bail, and we want to make sure teams don’t get caught in the lurch. You can check out the full policy here.

Q: Will there be food at the site?
A: Teams will be provided with a Food Bag each morning of the tournament. Tournament HQ will feature Coffee in the AM, a toaster and options for spreads like Peanut Butter, Jelly and Nutella. We are also working with local food vendors to provide other options (such as on-site pizza or burritos, and we’ll know more about this as the tournament approaches).

Q: Will there be concessions?
A: There will definitely be a concession of some type (pizza, tacos, hot dogs, etc). We’ll update this site as we broker more amenities.

Q: Will there be tournament merchandise for sale?
A: Yes, there will be discs and 5ultimate apparel for sale.

Q: Will there be a party?
A: While no one has died – YET – we did experience some trouble with the law last year. Additionally Las Vegas casinos are not interested in large groups of underage people. Finally, there is nothing that we could provide that could match the experiences you are capable of having in Sin City!

2010 College Trouble in Vegas will not feature a party by Cu1timate, roving or otherwise. We can give great recommendations about where you should be going.

Q: I heard the fields are hard. Are they?
A: It’s true, the fields are hard. The fields were particularly bad in certain years due to droughts out West. Last year College Trouble In Vegas was inundated with rain (we think this is still a desert), and repairs have been made to the fields.

Q: Seriously, did anyone die last year?
A: None (reported).

Q: College Trouble in Vegas on Super Bowl Weekend?!? WTF?
A: The trouble could double in 2010, as the weekend finally corresponds with the Super Bowl. What this means for you is BOOK YOUR TRAVEL EARLY! We will have the hook-up on the tournament hotel immediately after Thanksgiving, and flights will not get cheaper as the weekend approaches.

Additionally, we recommend staying in town on Sunday night, and enjoying the big game on one of the big screens at the big casinos. Who knows, you may even spot a celebrity.

Q: Is camping allowed at the fields?
A: Clark County Parks and Rec (the Vegas field host) does not allow camping at the field site. We are currently working with local hotels to provide great deals for both weekends.

Q: Will there be a tournament hotel?
A: Yes, we’re working on group discounts now and will have more information soon.

Q: Are dogs allowed?
A: Dogs are also not permitted, please leave Rover at home. Yeah, we know the joke is old.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: Until last year’s College Trouble in Vegas, according to the site managers, they have never had rain-related shutdowns. One might also take comfort in that the average rainfall in Las Vegas for the entire month of February is .45 inches. To give this some perspective, it would have to rain 4 times that amount in a single day to shut down most field sites. In case of rains like last year’s College Edition, play will be delayed, and resume when the conditions improve.

Q: Will College Trouble In Vegas be UPA-Sanctioned?
A: From every account that we’ve heard from our friends in Boulder, the process for UPA-sanctioning will change requirements a bit for teams and not terribly for tournament organizers. Plan on the games counting this time around!
